BioSynergy Omega-3 fish oil is our Omega 3 supplement that is under the spotlight today. It is enterically coated so that the contents are only released in the intestines, meaning you won’t get any aftertaste. The fish oils go through a 50-point screening process for purity and are made from wild anchovies, mackerels, and sardines caught in Norwegian waters.
What matters when it comes to Omega 3 products are the DHA and EPA levels. These are the fatty acids that you can only find in fish. They are responsible for slowing down cell aging, and therefore protect cognition and the joints. They also lower cholesterol and can help increase metabolism, therefore aiding weight loss efforts.
What’s In BioSynergy Omega-3 Fish Oil?
- Natural Fish Oil Concentrate 1.0 g (1000 mg) – Fish oils contribute enormously to health by lowering depression, fighting aging, improving vascular health and improving joint health.
- Omega-3 Fatty Acids 750 mg – Fatty acids contain antioxidant, anti inflammatory and immune-boosting properties. It is not clear what other fatty acids make up the 750 mg, but the amounts of EPA and DHA themselves are below average. Omega-6 comes from plant sources.
- Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) 180 mg – This is a good fat critical to wellbeing, vascular health and joint mobility.
- Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) 120 mg – A fatty acid integral to good eye and brain development and overall cognition.
How Do You Use BioSynergy Omega-3 Fish Oil?
Take 1 to 4 softgels daily with meals. There don’t seem to be health warnings but we know from research that EPA can lower blood pressure. If you’re taking blood thinners, consult a doctor and do the same if you are pregnant or have any health condition.
The Cost
You’ll pay $16.47 for a bottle of 90 softgels. This is fairly expensive as it would be a 3- or 4-week supply. When checking out 3 bottles, we did not find any actual product discount.
Is There A Guarantee?
You’ll get a full refund if you return the unused portion of the product within 30 days.
The Conclusion of our BioSynergy Omega-3 Fish Oil Review
It is clear that the manufacturer has taken great care to screen its capsules to make sure potentially harmful levels of contaminants such as mercury, heavy metals, PCBs, dioxins and other contaminants are filtered out. The tablets also have a coating which makes them easier to swallow as you don’t get the fishy aftertaste that accompanies some other omega 3 capsules.
The cost though, is high. A single serving of 1 to 4 capsules gives you the stated EPA and DHA amounts, which still fall below daily recommended allowance recommendations. Therefore it makes sense to look for a supplement containing higher per serving amounts of these fatty acids, that would work out to be more cost-effective long term. It can sometimes be difficult to swallow softgels in general especially if you have to do so every day long term, so it would also be wise to make your first purchase with a manufacturer satisfying the above conditions, and also provides you with at least a three-month guarantee.
