The ingredient list has no added stearates and is both vegetarian and vegan-friendly. But the ingredient list is missing Selenium, Magnesium, Vitamin B-12, and L-Tyrosine which are great in providing optimal thyroid support. Unfortunately, the Proprietary Blend’s amount of the other ingredients are not listed which leaves consumers unsure as to the exact composition of the supplement.
Moreover, the same product label for ThyroVen lists two different amounts of Iodine; the manufacturer’s website lists 1 capsule having 182 mcg; third party websites shows the label listing 140 mcg or 138 mcg of naturally occurring Iodine in each capsule. So the fact that the iodine amounts has changed so many times is cause for concern. In any case, if you multiply whichever amount of iodine listed on the labels by 3, the total amount of Iodine ingested per day is way too high. The RDA recommends that the daily allowance of the dietary iodine in adult men and women is 150 mcg per day. Though iodine helps enormously in producing key thyroid hormones to assist in balancing metabolism, too much iodine is dangerous.
